Purpose of this web site.
As a Gun Owner, Target Shooter, Plinker, Former Boy Scout, United States Marine & Police Officer, I've been around firearms, bows/arrows, knives, swords and a variety of other arms/weapons all my life. I've shot hundreds of thousands of bullets down range, but have never had the need, urge or desire to shoot innocent people.
I suspect that just as Gold @ 99.999% most gun owners in the United States also don't go around shooting up their neighborhood schools, churches, movie theaters, shopping malls, etc. Even so, political action groups around the country want to take our guns (or nowadays, our ammunition) away from law abiding citizens.
Criminalizing gun ownership by law abiding citizens is just not necessary. If existing laws were enforced: Felons in possession of a firearm is a crime in every state I'm aware of, robbing someone with or without a gun is a crime, raping someone is a crime, murdering someone with a knife, bomb, drugs, car, gun or any other way is a crime. Why make it a crime to own a gun??? I guess it gives some folks a warm fuzzy feeling.
Some whom don't have my same beliefs, might say I don't have any gun related tragedies in my life, but again they would be wrong. In January 1982 my Mother & Father were attacked by a gang of five (5) thugs when they were leaving a party at a friends house. Initially the thugs physically attacked my father prior to any demands for money or car keys. When my father fought back, one of these thugs pulled out a gun and shot my father multiple times killing him on scene.
As a WW-II Marine Veteran, I believe if my father would have had a gun on his person the outcome may have been quite different. Think of five (5) thugs beating on your Mother or Father even without a gun involved; what chance of survival do you really think your parents would have?

The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution which was adopted on December 15, 1791; reads: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."
Merriam Webster Defines “Militia” as: : a group of people who are not part of the armed forces of a country but are trained like soldiers
With all the recient gun violence around the United States including gang activity, sniper activity, mass shootings, terrorist threats, etc. Some of our simple minded citizens and elected government officials are under the missguided beleife that adding more gun control laws, or worse yet eleminitaing gun ownership by private citizens alltoghter will magically make these mass casualty events go away.
Of course there is no mention of Germanwings Flight 9525 which took 150 lives at one time (no firearm involved), 2,996 people killed in September 11th. 2001 attacks (Box Cutters not Firearms), 168 people killed Oklahoma City on April 19, 1995 with (fertilizer and diesel fuel, no firearm) & too many others to include, but you get the point.
Even our politicians who are trying to disarm the United States Citzenry don't always comprehend exacty what it is they are doing as in this example: In April 2013, Democratic Rep. Diana DeGette (Denver, Colorado) who has been the lead sponsor on a federal ban on high-capacity ammunition magazines in two Congresses, when asked, how a ban on magazines holding more than 15 rounds would be effective in reducing gun violence, She replied: “I will tell you these are ammunition, they’re bullets, so the people who have those know they’re going to shoot them, so if you ban them, in the future the number of these high capacity magazines is going to decrease dramatically over time because the bullets will have been shot and there won’t be any more available.”

Additionally over the years, it has been argued on numerious ocassions that “The Well Regulated Militia” is in fact “The National Guard” which of course just isn't so! As The National Guard is in fact used by the Military in conflicts outside the boundries of the United States. (Click for More Information).
So, while driving down the road one day thinking of stories I've read in “Good Guys With Guns, Android App.” and a story I read about the “Pet Rock Craze of the 80's” I came up with an idea.
What if I created my own “Well Regulated Militia”? Create a Web Site, post the “Well Written Regulations” on the web site, charge a nominal annual fee to cover my time, server, & other expenses, and provide a membership card to all who join.
The membership card will allow you to prove you are a member of a “Well Regulate Militia” which I'm choosing to name: “United Citizens Well Regulated Milita”. The pros as well as the cons of membership will be on the frequenty asked questions page of this site.
The privacy policy has its own page, but only your e-mail will ever be used for contact, and only if you “Opt-In” to the system for membership renewall or other options down the road that you'll also have to activly “Opt-In” to receive.
Of course, just like Gun Dealers, the NRA, Phone Carriers, Internet Carriers, etc. The Federal Government may subpona me for records. To that end, I encourage members to consider “Gift Memberships” to anti-gun friends and family, the same way I encourage those against hunting to purchase a hunting license and deer tag & Duck Stamp. I tell them, well you know, if you purchase your own hunting license, deer tag, and Duck Stamp, that's one less tag available this year to a hunter.
The extra revenue the Federal & State Wildlife Agencies receive helps wildlife management, increases game numbers for future hunts, and makes the anit-hunter feel good at the same time! By having those who oppose our rights join our Milita, it increases our membership numbers, making us a more formadable force to reckon with.
So, our idea of the “United Citizens Well Regulated Milita” may float like pumice or sink like granite, only time and your support will tell. At $10.00 annualy it's cheeper than a 100 round box of .22 Long Rifle Ammunition, at least in my neck of the woods.

About Us
This “United Citizens Well Regulated Militia” or “UCWRM for Short” was conceived by myself: H. Alan Miller as I was driving down the road one day.
While thinking of all the advances in Open Carry and Concealed Carry laws around the United States, I was thinking it seems that every time we make an advance, some idiot who has no legal right to own a gun under existing laws goes out on a mass killing, murder, or murder-suicide rampage and brings the gun control (read arms control) debate back to the forefront of media attention, and law maker review.
Politicians & Lawmakers around the country jump on the band wagon and start talking about taking away our gun and other arms ownership afforded to us by the Second Amendment of the Constitution of the United States; many times stating that the Well Regulated Militia described in this amendment is in fact the United States National Guard.
As I'm personally not aware of any other non-violent militias except for say “War Reenactment Groups” which are organized primarily for visual historical education of specific conflicts.
There are of course the Terrorist & Anti Government Organizations sometimes calling themselves militia's, which of course I want no part of, and hopefully neither do those of you wishing to join the “United Citizens Well Regulated Militia”.
My goal with this web site is to create our (yes, our – not mine) own “Well Regulated Militia” , thus creating an entity that meets the definition of “Well Regulated Militia” under the Second Amendment.
So how do we become “Well Regulated”? I figured the best way to do this is to have well written regulations for current and potential membership to reference. Include a suggestion form for adding regulations I may have forgot, revising regulations when necessary, and repealing regulations that no longer fit the goals of the “United Citizens Well Regulated Militia”.
While the above items will make us “Well Regulated” we don't really have a “Militia” until we have members. We can't have members if we don't have a way for them to identify themselves, or for us to identify our membership numbers.
While this sounds simple enough to do, the big question on how to do it while respecting peoples privacy, anonymity, locations, what arms they own (if any), political associations, beliefs, and too many more considerations to list here was the problem.
To that end, if you decide to join (or purchase gift memberships) to the “United Citizens Well Regulated Militia” a membership card will be sent to each person and address you have listed in your subscription.
For other current or future web site or e-mail options, you will have to “Opt-In” by providing your membership number and e-mail address used when signing up for membership. Please see our privacy policies for full details. Just know, that we will not use any of your personal information for anything unless you “Opt-In” for the specific service.
Regulations
The following “Regulations” are very broad in their scope, as our “Militia” unlike a modern government funded Military does NOT own the use the same type of “Arms” throughout its membership.
Some of our members may own Civil War Era black powder firearms, there may be members that only own or use edged or impact Arms, where other members may own and use the most modern firearms available to the military today.
With that in mind, it would be impossible for us to write regulations that pertain to every type of Arm and Member within the UCWRM.
The abbreviation UCWRM will be used throughout this document in place of “United Citizens Well Regulated Militia” but is equal in meaning!
Obviously if your Arms of choice are Revolutionary War Edged Arms, practicing the art of proper sight alignment does not pertain to you. However it would be nice if you were aware of the “Regulation” in the event you happen upon a member or another who isn't.
Hopefully the following Regulations (while not all encompassing) will help you protect yourselves, protect your family, protect others, and also protect your right to Keep and Bear Arms.

General Regulations
1. Do What I Can To Protect My Right To Keep And Bear Arms!
2. Do what I can to stay proficient and safe with my arms of choice.
3. Do what I can to keep others safe around my arms and ammunition of choice.
4. Support when I can those organizations that help protect my right to Keep and Bear Arms.
5. Stay current on political views of those I'm able to vote for so I can vote correctly in an effort to protect my right to Keep and Bear Arms.
6. Vote – On Election Days to protect your right to Keep and Bear Arms
7. Educated others on how they can assist both themselves and you using the above regulations.
Safety & Security Considerations
Arms Safety is Paramount in our efforts to keep our rights intact. While access to our Arms is important for numerous reasons, if there are children or other visitors in the area you store your arms, make the effort to secure them with locks or in locked vaults.
While allot of us enjoy decorating our quarters with our Arms, make careful consideration just whom can view them; are they viewable to passerby’s on the sidewalk or street? If so, consider making a private, lockable room your choice of display.
